SVP STRATEGY, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & INTERNATIONAL, CHICO’S
George Nahra serves as SVP, Strategy, Business Development, and International at Chico’s FAS. In this role, George oversees strategic planning, innovation, new business development opportunities, strategic program management, and international operations for the Chico’s, White House I Black Market, and Soma brands. Chico’s FAS is a $2.5B+ retailer with 1,500+ owned stores and approximately 80 franchised locations.
Before joining Chico’s FAS, he advised several companies in the consumer space. Work included defining consumer trends for a mass retailer, identifying growth opportunities for a plus-sized retailer, and re-imagining pricing strategies for a global athletic apparel / accessories brand. He also served as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Customer Insights at Abercrombie and Fitch., where he formulated A&F’s long range strategic plan, built a Program Management Office to manage the overall strategic planning process, and built a Customer and Competitive Insights Team.
Prior to joining A&F, George held senior roles at Bridgewater Associates, a hedge fund with roughly $170B in assets under management, and McKinsey & Co., where he was an integral member of the Retail and Marketing & Sales practices, serving clients in grocery, consumer electronics, specialty apparel, specialty pharmacy, wholesale jeanswear, and other retail sectors. George started his career in merchandising at A&F.
George holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and English from Duke University and an MBA from The Wharton School.
